The smaller chart shows the monthly solar PV generation figures we've achieved against the PVGIS monthly total predictions. As you can see, April and June were behind the prediction - largely due to poor weather I believe - although March and May have been particularly good, high above the predicted figures. July and August were almost exactly in line with the predicted figures. September has reached the prediction after 22 days.
All data is in kWh.
solar PV generation (green) vs PVGIS weekly monthly annual & sum (yellow) (kWh)
This next chart shows similar data but on a daily basis set against the prediction for the month - PVGIS gives average figures for each month and these are shown as a growth in yellow. The daily figures come from the inverter and are in green on a cumulative basis for the month.
You can see how July was really quite poor for most of the month but caught up with the prediction in the last few days. August however has had a great first 10 days, let's hope that continues.
The 2nd full August week hasn't been too bad - 12.5 kWh per day average - above the prediction for average August days and keeping the performance at about 20% above expectation for the month so far.
Unfortunately the 2nd half of August was much more in line with the average expected for the month - at the end we were 5% up on the prediction, pretty much in line with the Met Office figures which said we had approx. 100% of the expected sunshine for the month.
September has started well - days 2-9 are the best week so far! Day 11 was also great - over 20 kWh - and showed that actually a sunny and windy day is far better than just a sunny one - the previous Sunday was very sunny but reached less than 18 units, presumably due to the overheating in the panels causing them to lose efficiency briefly. The cool wind obviously helped to keep them operating at optimum levels.
Although the 3rd week in September has seen the average fall as good sunny days are followed by wet & cloudy ones, we're still 45% up on the prediction to date, as we've already passed the end of month figure on day 22.
